Danny is a Clinical Mental Health Counselor (CMHC). His wry sense of humor and passion for the outdoors have served him well in his extensive work with addictions.
Danny’s career began in 2005 when he began working in various capacities at a treatment center for at–risk youth. Since that time he has worked at 10 different facilities for youth dealing with various substance and behavioral addictions. These facilities included secure lockdown units, residential treatment centers, and wilderness programs.
Since 2009 Danny has been working as a professional counselor with youth and adults in both inpatient and outpatient settings and had the responsibility of overseeing the therapeutic component of treatment at a residential treatment center for boys with behavioral issues.
For the past 4 years Danny’s focus has shifted to working more with an adult population who are struggling with compulsive pornography use and other sexual problems. He focuses on helping individuals and families work through the problems that addiction can present into their lives. Danny works to help clients uncover what is under their sexual, or behavioral addictions and guide them to discover where the problem originated, so they can begin healing relationships and their lives. Addictions are deep problems that require more than just behavioral adjustments; it requires deeper personal work.
In addition to working with addictions Danny also has significant experience and expertise in working with men who are experiencing distress around their sexual orientation. He work with these men to find peace and satisfaction in life and help them, through exploring their own values and life goals, to discover healthy and acceptable ways to approach their concerns.
Danny received his Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Behavioral Science from Utah Valley State College in 2008 and his Master’s of Science degree in Mental Health Counseling from The University of Phoenix in 2011. In 2012, he began practicing with Connections Counseling Services.
