David Ward, CMHC
David is a licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and has been working in the psychology field since 1996. Using a short-term brief therapy model influenced by Motivational Interviewing with a high emphasis on client choice, David helps clients focus on opportunities and growth. With multiple years of experience in treating opiate and alcohol dependence, he hopes to offer a genuine understanding of the changes a client experiences on their path to healing.David received his Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Westminster College and a Master’s Degree in Counseling from the University of Phoenix. He has experience across the psychology spectrum from play therapy with children to adult locked inpatient units. He was also a psychiatric medical assistant for four years with Intermountain Health Care.Additionally, David was a Behavioral Health Specialist with Aetna health insurance and helped to design and integrate several of their behavioral health outreach programs. He has worked as a mental health therapist and counselor in a wide variety of clinical practice settings. David looks forward to working with you on a chosen pathway to healing.
