Lydia Afualo, MFT Intern
I am a Marriage and Family Therapy intern currently in my last year of clinical work. I am so excited to meet you and help you along your journey! I want to put you into the driver’s seat of your life and in this process, and I am excited to assist you along the way.
After years of searching, I believe I have finally found my true center and path as an aspiring licensed therapist.
How I can help:
I have a variety of different experiences that I believe will better assist me in helping clients. I am an empathetic person that loves problem solving, and helping people figuring out either very simple, or complex problems in their life. I also have always had a passion working with teens/youth, so I started working at residential treatment facilities.
It is my belief that many times, teens ‘fall through the cracks’ of life and so I have done my best to support teens, both males and females, in giving them a better foundation of support. I have been a team lead supervisor in running houses of teens, making sure they felt listened to, and supported in all of their life’s difficulties.
I also believe that as we strengthen ourselves, and our families, we can then better strengthen our communities. This is my aim and goal at being a therapist, to help make our world a better place as a whole, starting with the individual and their family.
I am here for you, and my focus will be on how I can best do that. Therefore, it is important for me to listen to you so that I can help you in the best way that I can. I have a very flexible approach, and you will find that my job is to find what approach works best for you in the stage of life you are in. I will meet you where you are at in your life, and we can go from there. You just let me know where you want to go in life, and I am here to help you improve, discover how you can improve your life, and help you to reach the goals that you have set forth to accomplish.
