Chris De la Vega, AMFT

Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, Internal Family Systems (IFS)

About Chris

Chris De la Vega is a Therapist at Connection Counseling Services and an AMFT specializing in trauma resolution, anxiety, depression, relational conflict, and life transitions. He is trained in multiple evidence-based modalities and is known for integrating psychoanalytic approaches, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Ketamine-Assisted Therapy into his work.

Chris works with individuals (adolescents 12+ and adults), couples, and families. He believes in a collaborative, culturally responsive approach that honors each client’s unique background, values, and belief systems. Whether navigating trauma, struggling with anxiety or depression, experiencing relational conflict, or moving through major life transitions, Chris helps clients achieve meaningful and lasting change. And when challenges feel overwhelming or outcomes feel uncertain, he supports clients in building resilience, insight, and healthy pathways forward.

What to Expect Working with Chris

Chris describes his style as integrative, collaborative, and client-centered. He provides a blend of structured interventions and deeper exploratory work, using tools such as psychoanalytic approaches for insight and pattern resolution, IFS for internal harmony, CBT and DBT for skill-building, and solution-focused techniques for forward momentum.

He creates a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental environment where clients feel seen and empowered. The goal is not for you to be “fixed” or simply vent each week — it is for you to experience real insight, emotional relief, and practical tools that create meaningful change in your life.
