About Alison

Alison Watts is a Clinical Mental Health Counselor (CMHC) and AFCC-informed custody evaluator at Connections Counseling Services. She came to Connections from Family Advocacy Center, which is now part of the practice, and continues to provide custody evaluations for Utah families.

In more than ten years in the field, Alison has worked with people in some of the hardest circumstances of their lives, and has seen many of them turn those experiences into a life of purpose. She has worked extensively with people in crisis, whether recent or in the past, including people who have been suicidal, have experienced trauma, or have been involved in foster care, the Division of Child and Family Services, residential treatment, or the prison system. She also has experience with personality disorders and with substance use and addiction treatment.

Alison enjoys working with people of all ages, backgrounds, and experiences, and considers it a privilege to help each person heal in their own way. She has a background working with children and teens using art and play therapy, and she offers support, coping tools, and a safe place to do the work.

Working in this field inspires me daily, and I see so many humans grow and learn from who they have been into who they can become.
