What is anxiety?
Anxiety is your body's alarm system working overtime. A certain amount of worry is normal and even useful — but when fear becomes constant, disproportionate, or hard to switch off, it can drain your energy, disrupt sleep, strain relationships, and shrink your world. Anxiety shows up in many forms: generalized worry, panic attacks, social anxiety, phobias, and health anxiety among them.
Feeling anxious does not mean something is wrong with you. It means your nervous system needs support — and that is exactly what therapy provides.
How we treat anxiety
Our therapists use evidence-based approaches matched to you: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to identify and reshape anxious thought patterns, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to build a flexible relationship with difficult feelings, and EMDR or Brainspotting when anxiety is rooted in past trauma. You'll also leave sessions with practical, in-the-moment tools for calming your body and mind.
If intrusive thoughts and compulsions are part of what you are facing, see our page on OCD therapy. If your worry centers on dating, connecting with others, or finding the right person, see relationship anxiety.
What to expect
Start with a free 30-minute consultation to be matched with the right clinician. Early sessions focus on understanding your specific patterns and giving you immediate relief tools; from there, we work at your pace toward lasting change. Care is available in person in Orem and Murray, or online anywhere in Utah.
