What is depression?
Depression is a common, serious mood condition that affects how you feel, think, and function. It can look like ongoing sadness or emptiness, but it just as often shows up as numbness, irritability, exhaustion, loss of interest in things you used to enjoy, or a heavy sense that nothing will change.
Depression is not weakness, and it is not something you should be able to 'just snap out of.' It is treatable — and reaching out is a sign of strength.
How we treat depression
Our therapists draw on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to interrupt the thought patterns that fuel hopelessness, behavioral activation to gently rebuild momentum and connection, and EMDR or Brainspotting when depression is tied to past trauma or loss. We treat the whole picture — your relationships, history, and goals — not just the symptoms.
What to expect
Begin with a free 30-minute consultation to find the right fit. Sessions create a safe, judgment-free space to understand what you're carrying and build practical steps forward. Many clients begin to feel small shifts early in the process. Care is available in Orem, Murray, and online across Utah.
