Are you approved by LDS Family Services?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Connections Counseling is on the LDS Family Services referral list. If your bishop or LDS Family Services has referred you, you can book with our therapists directly. You are also welcome to come without any referral at all.

Question 2

Can prayer and scripture study be part of my sessions?

Accepted Answer

If you want them to be. Some clients open or close with prayer, or work through passages that matter to them — from the Bible, the Book of Mormon, or a recent conference talk. Others prefer to leave all of that outside the room. You set the role faith plays, and your therapist follows your lead.

How does LDS counseling help with marriage and family problems?

Faith can be a source of strength in a marriage and, when spouses are in different places, a source of strain. Our therapists help couples communicate more openly, work through conflict without contempt, and reconnect around what they actually share. The clinical work is the same evidence-based couples therapy we provide anyone — it simply accounts for the role belief plays in your family.

What if I am struggling with doubt or feel distant from God?

You are welcome here exactly as you are. Doubt, guilt, and spiritual distance are common and are not treated as problems to be argued out of you. Our therapists will not push you toward or away from your faith — several have particular experience with faith transitions in any direction. What coping skills will I actually learn?

Practical ones: reframing the thoughts that keep you stuck, managing stress through breathing and mindfulness, setting boundaries without guilt, breaking large problems into steps you can take this week, and building self-compassion. Which of these you work on depends on what brought you in.

Can LDS counseling help during a major life transition?

Accepted Answer

Yes. A move, a job loss, a death, a divorce, a mission return, an empty nest — transitions unsettle people who are otherwise doing fine. Therapy gives you somewhere to sort it out and steady yourself, with a clinician who understands the spiritual dimension if that matters to you.

Yes. Every one of our therapists offers secure, HIPAA-compliant online therapy anywhere in Utah, so you can meet from home. Many clients prefer it for the privacy and the shorter day.

We accept Select Health, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Deseret Mutual Benefit Administrators, and EMI Health, among others. Our billing team verifies your benefits before your first session so there are no surprises.
